I am excited to be participating in the Paper Crafts magazine Stamp It! 3 Ways blog hop today! Woot Woot!!

If you have not seen this issue... you are missing out! You can find the issue here if you want to purchase one or five! :) If you are not familiar with the issue... basically three designers were given the same stamp set to create with. The result is a 2 page spread per stamp set... showing how each set can be used to create three different projects... each one showcasing a different style!

It is a great magazine... full of inspiration and I even found new stamp companies that I didn't know existed! Score!!

Today... the ladies on this hop were asked to create a new card using a set that they used in the magazine! I chose to use the Rock Star set by Inkadinkado. It is such a fun set!

I am hoping that by the time that this post goes live... we will be well into redoing my craft room! We have made some purchases (using my Christmas money/g.cards) and I am excited to get the process moving along!

Today the newest Avocado Arts Pit Crew girls get to share another project using the wonderful January Kit called Sweet Treat Sweetie! If you haven't gone to check out the set yet... go here.

For today's card... I used the cute cupcake stamp. I cut all of my layers, stamped and colored my image and adhered each layer to the base with dimensionals. Then I stamped my sentiment and added the jewels.

Carver's birthday has come and gone... he had a great day I think.

Michael's birthday is on Thursday and we are having about 12-14 adults and 4 children (including us) over for dinner. Sooooooooo... I am going to be working like a dog this week to get my house clean and get everything ready for his special day! I am starting to feel the stress so I thought I would alleviate some of that by making the decision to let the blog go for a few days! :)

Avocado Arts Entire Pit Crew Day

Today the entire Avocado Arts Pit Crew get to share a project using the January Kit called Sweet Treat Sweetie with a sneak peak of February's Kit... Wishes and Kind Thoughts!!

If you are not yet familiar with the wonderful Avocado Arts stamps or how to join the AA club... click HERE! You can browse all of the sets and find any info you need! You can visit the blog HERE.

For my card... I made the kraft card base and cut the cream slightly smaller. I stamped that cool jar, branch (did a little masking on that one), flower and sentiment. I colored in the flower/branch and I colored the jar to make it look like an old blue/green Ball jar! I love those jars and have several! I inked the edges with distress ink and adhered the cream to the base with foam tape. Easy Peasy!

Now... go check out the rest of the Pit Crew's creations... I have seen most of them and they are great!! :)

Todays card is another one that I made for a Paper Crafts call. I still have several of those in my 'to post' folder! Even though I wish every card I made got picked up for the magazine... it is nice to have some cards to post when I am not feeling very crafty! I have had a hard time getting back into the swing of things since the holidays are over. I think it has to do with my craft room! It is a MESS! I clean up each night that I craft but there are so many other things covering the floor... to do projects, a die cutting machine that I don't have room for anywhere yet (still in the box... booooo!), Carvers 5th birthday party decor, etc.... lots o' stuff! This room ends up being the place things go until I can find them a permanent home and/or have time to deal with it.

Carver turns 5 on Saturday and we are having his first 'friend party'... the kind that you invite kids and they bring presents. We are pretty big on C not having a big party every year. First of all... I don't know how parents afford it. We are having his party at a local bouncy house type place and WOW!! I can't imagine paying that every year. Not that he isn't worth it.... but it isn't necessary! We do something fun/different to celebrate his birthday every year. Last year he had his cousins come over to spend the night. That was a lot of fun. Anyway... I am starting to ramble.

My hubby turns 40 in the next couple of weeks too and I think we will be having some people over for that. My point is... after the two birthdays have come and gone.... it is time to redo my craft room. I am excited! My parents and in-laws gave me some money and gift cards for Christmas that will help to get the job done. I don't like the thought of taking time off from crafting to do it but... I know I will be glad once it is done!

Okay... well... I have rambled on for too long now! :) I get chatty at 1:45 am!

Today I am showing a card that I made for a Paper Crafts call! Even though it didn't get picked up... I love this card. It reminds me of my nephew, Rex, because he is learning karate and apparently is pretty good at it. I am excited to give him this card the next time I know he has earned a new belt! The little boy even looks like my nephew! :)

The image I used is from this set and the sentiment is from this set! Both sets are from My Creative Time... which I LOVE!

It seems like I have been waiting forever for this day... my first post with Avocado Arts!! Over the last few months I have gotten to know a lot more about the owners of this company and the rest of the Pit Crew. As soon as the new girls were introduced... we were instantly welcomed with open arms into a wonderful, supportive and crazy (in a good way) family! :) I am beyond thrilled to be designing for such a wonderful company.

Random Christmas Pictures/Talk

Whew... we have been busy busy busy but we have been having a lot of fun around here! I think so anyway! :) I have taken a break from crafting and really focusing on spending time with the boys and/or getting everything ready for Christmas.

I thought I would share some pictures of a little of what we have been up to. They are all Instagram pics from my phone so the quality of the picture is not that great. I don't want to take the time to pull pictures off of my camera! :)

Now starts the random talk... just warning you! :)

We usually go to my parents house on Christmas Day for lunch. As hard as it was to 'break away'... this year... we are going to be staying at home. I am really excited about starting a, hopefully, new tradition in my own home. One where Carver wakes up and can play with his new toys all day and we don't have to leave the house or change out of our pajamas if we don't have to. This year we are having a church service on Christmas so we will be attending that. Instead of going to my parents afterwards, we will be coming home. I love my family so this was hard for me to do but I really want to make some new memories of our own before Carver gets too big. I am really excited about this year!

Over the past few years, we have broken away from other family get togethers because after Carver was born... it was just too much. There was always a conflict of some sort with another family get together. When you and your spouse both have pretty much all of your family in the same town... it can get a little tricky to see everyone. This year our little family will be attending 2 different church services over the next few days and will only be attending 2 immediate family get togethers. It is a little sad to me in a way because I will miss spending time with our extended family but... I am also a little excited because I don't feel stressed at all. Our days are not jam packed. I feel like such a grown up... I have been cooking. LOL! I made fudge and a coconut cake for Christmas. I have a good idea of the other food I will be cooking for Christmas. I don't ever get to do that because someone else always does it! :)

I am about to get busy on cleaning my house... so it will be nice and clean for Santa! :)

Michael has been off this week and even though he has had some extra computer work... it has just been nice to have him home... even if he is working some!

It has been nice to take a break from crafting. So nice in fact that I have been thinking yet again about how I need to have a better balance in my life. I love crafting so much that I let it take over my thoughts and any spare time I have. I don't know that I will ever quit crafting but I do think I need to find a better balance. I have said that many a time before but I am praying that God will help me achieve it in 2012.

Wow... I am chatty! I guess that is what happens when I am 'gone' from my blog for a little while! At least a weeks worth of my previous posts were scheduled so even thought I have posted each day.... I have been away from my computer/blog during that time!

Well... I guess that is it from me! I guess I was missing my blog and just wanted to 'talk'! :)

Happy Tuesday!

I am going to be sharing a few Christmas cards this week and next week! All of my posts are going to be scheduled ahead of time so they will all be short and sweet! :) The last week of the month will probably be the same but I will be sharing some projects using new Penny Black Valentine stamps!

I have some house cleaning to do before Santa comes! We also have some family get togethers and a few church services that we will be attending before Christmas. Not to mention a little last minute shopping and other activities that we like to do each year... driving to look at lights, etc.

Carver will be out of school for two weeks starting next Monday... and I want to be able to spend time with him without worrying about my blog, crafting, etc! I LOVE blogging and crafting but I am feeling in a little funk at the moment so it will be good for me to take a little break from it and just concentrate on enjoying Christmas and the New Year! I am also going to try and get more sleep and see if that helps some! :) Start the new year off on a good note... rested!!!

Baby Boy Card and Other Stuff

I am sorry I have been MIA the past couple of days! We went out of town with my parents for a few days over the weekend and we have been going non stop since we got home! Any spare time I have had at night... I have been working on cards for the Paper Crafts call that just ended. Last night I got to work on some DT assignments. I am trying to get all caught up so I can enjoy the holidays without any stress of having to get anything done. I am sure I will still be crafting almost daily but just in case... I want to be all caught up and good to go for December and January! :)

Jill Foster... a fellow Penny Black design team member... is featuring me on her Inspired By blog this week. Here is Day One... and Day Two if you want to check them out. I am honored that she chose to search for inspiration in my work and her work is... WOW!! It is a lot better than the inspiration piece... let me tell ya! :)

Today starts a new theme for the week on the Penny Black blog. You can visit the blog HERE!

I decided to make some gift card holders for our nieces and nephews. Please excuse my messy writing! I made 5 of them but they all look pretty much the same so I only photographed 2. It is a little sad that all of our nieces and nephews are old enough that they want gift cards or money for Christmas. I feel old! :)

Well... I hope you had a great week last week! We were super busy with lots of 'on the fly' plans and we had a blast. I got my Christmas decorations up, my house semi-cleaned, gifts wrapped, we saw Santa and had a picture made, we drove through to see some Christmas lights, I saw Breaking Dawn with a friend, and on and on. Like I said... busy but loads of fun (except the house cleaning)! :)

I also went through and looked at about 500 posts in my google reader. I started at over 1000 and went through and marked some of the company blogs, etc as all read. I had great plans to get caught up and comment on all of my 'usual' blog friends posts.... then I decided I was expecting a little too much of myself. So.... instead I commented here and there. I am down to 90 at the moment and will probably do the same .... just look... until I am back to 0. THEN I hope to stay caught up again! I promise to try!! :) Just wanted to let you know if you have noticed that I haven't commented lately. It has been a little crazy the past 2 months!

One more thing before I go... I have been meaning to 'talk' about this and I keep forgetting. I was reminded tonight when I was asked by someone what I do with all of my cards.

I, like I am sure many of you, could never use all of the cards, tags and bags that I make. I have given some to my mom and to friends. Recently I took a basket full of them (keeping a small stash for myself) to our church. Michael has the basket in his office. I sent an email to the staff and let them know that there were cards, etc in his office for their taking. I hope it will save them some money and/or encourage them to hand out more love! I plan to keep it stocked as I make more and more cards. I don't know why I hadn't thought of this before so that is why I am posting about it.... in case you hadn't either. You could take a basket of cards to a school... for teachers or to your church ... for the staff. Lots of things you can do to bless others with all of those cards you could never use. Just another option for you if you have wondered what to do with them all. Please don't leave me any praise .... that is not why I am sharing this with you. I just wanted to put the idea in your head! :)

OKAY.... enough rambling! It is late and I am REALLY sleep deprived! :) That makes me extra chatty! Plus... for the last 2 weeks... my posts were scheduled a week at a time so I didn't feel like I was really 'talking'! I guess I am catching up tonight! :)

I used 3983F Star Noel! I used my Tsukineko and Stampin' Up markers to color the image and then stamp onto some white cardstock. Easy Peasy!

Tuesday Simple Stamping with Penny Black

I wanted to show my card that is being featured over on the Penny Black blog today! You can visit the blog HERE.

I used 4108K Christmas Usher. Don't you just LOVE this stamp? I used a technique that I learned from a friend, Ashley, while she was crafting with me one day. I just used some line 'swoops' :) to color instead of filling in the entire image. I think that is something I will do over and over again being that I am not a pro at copic coloring!! Brilliant!!

I decided to just color part of the image and I think the 'swoops' of color go with the design of the stamp! Simple indeed! :)

Simple Stamping with Penny Black Announcement

Today is a very happy day indeed! Today I get to share the news that I have been asked to join the Penny Black Design Team! I am beyond thrilled for this opportunity! Wooooo Hooooo! :)

Penny Black asked me to come on board to help with a new feature on the Penny Black blog that we are all very excited about!! The new feature is called Simple Stamping week! One week out of the month we will be showcasing how Penny Black stamps can be used to make simple cards! I feel very blessed to have this opportunity... if you are already a follower of mine... you know how I love clean and simple cards! :)

I am thrilled to be a part of the Paper Crafts magazine 365 Cards blog hop today!

"WOW" is all I can say about this rockin' issue... 365 gorgeous cards that will make you drool!

I discovered a lot of new days to celebrate throughout the year from 365 Cards. I love that!

I didn't know that there was a National Popcorn Day... did you? And... it happens to be on my husbands birthday! I think I have found a theme for his milestone birthday this coming year (he will be 40... shhhh)! :)

Today I am posting a couple of cards that I had made for Heartfelt Creations DT call. I had applied by email at the very last minute after seeing their DT call on SCS. Before I sent the email, I had gone to take a quick look at their stamps to see if I was interested because I was not aware of the company. I really liked that they seemed to have a lot of faith based stamps so I just went for it. One of those last minute impulse moves!

I made the first round and I was sent a couple of stamps and a set of dies to make 2 cards for the final round. While waiting to hear if I would make the DT, I was contacted by two other companies... asking me to join their DT! So... I had to bail out before the DT was announced but the owner was super nice and understanding so I wanted to make sure to tell you about them. You can check out their stamps HERE.

Speaking of... I prayed a long time ago asking God to show me if He wanted me to stay in this biz because of all the guilt I was feeling about the energy and time I spend. I also specifically asked at the time for Him to show me if He wanted me to be any design teams... that I would be asked. That sounds conceited a little bit but I assure you... I don't have a conceited bone in my body... maybe several mean ones ... but no conceited ones! Anyway... He continues to answer my prayer and His timing is always perfect.

All of that to say... I took what I had asked God to do.. into my own hands. I almost got myself into a position of ... if I made the team.. having to turn around and ask to be off of it.. which I would not want to do. OR... not be able to accept a DT position with the company that I haven't announced yet.

God wants only the best for me and this was just another lesson to me that HE is in control! He knows my heart and what my goals are. Those goals have changed over time and I know it is a result of God changing my heart to make His will... my goals. And I am more than good with that!

Today I wanted to share a bag that I made a little while ago. I used some of Carvers stickers in his stash. I just cut a big square to fit on the bag and lifted it up with dimensionals and stamped the sentiment. Easy Peasy! The recipient will have some peel and stick stickers to go along with whatever gifts are in the bag.

Keeping it short and sweet! I am hoping to be productive today.. I wasn't very productive over the weekend! I love that Mondays feel like a fresh start! :)

Giving Praise

Well... I said that I wasn't going to post the rest of the weekend! I am literally exhausted from the last two weeks activities and all the excitement going on! But... that being said... I need to give praise where praise is due!!

God has been pouring out one blessing after another ... after another... the past few weeks! Of course God always blesses me... I have a beautiful little boy.. a wonderful husband... a warm home.. food to eat... wonderful friends and family... I could go on and on! But this is somewhat different. It has been so much stuff... stuff that He knows means so much to me... that it is almost unbelievable and there is no denying who it is coming from. I feel like God opened the blessing floodgates and they are all landing on me!

God is my Father who loves me more than anyone ever could! I am so unworthy of His love. He deserves to be praised... all the time... out loud!... So that is what I am doing!!

I am showing a couple of things I made a while back for a Paper Crafts call. It wasn't picked up but the good news is that I was already able to use the tag. A lot of kids in Carvers class at school and just his friends in general will be turning 5 this year... not to mention... Carver. Hopefully I will find a use for the bag before too long!

Yesterday I got to volunteer in Carvers class at school all day! They wore their Halloween outfits and went trick or treating around to the different classes. It was a lot of fun! Then last night I had dinner with a sweet friend. After we ate, we went shopping at Toys R Us to get a jump on some Christmas shopping! Yesterday was just a great day! I had a lot of fun all day long!

Okay... well... enough rambling! I will be taking Saturday and Sunday off from posting! We have a ton going on this weekend! I have a few CAS Halloween cards to show but I will wait and post them on Monday!

I was thinking about the title for this post and for some reason... Waffle House came to mind. I believe that is the way you order hashbrowns there! If not... don't correct me... I am sticking with it! :)

This bag and card were super easy! Like most of you (I am sure), I have an abundance of craft stuff. For this bag and card... I used up some of my stash really quickly. I just took a whole page of rub on's and applied the whole page... as is... on them. Used up 2 sheets of rub ons in a flash!

I have convinced my son to go play in his room for a few minutes while I got the last of my Halloween cards ready to mail. I thought I would sneak a post in too! :) I better go before he realizes I have moved on to something else!

Last week was a great week for me as far as crafty stuff is concerned. I have two announcements to make in the next couple of months that I am very excited about! I asked God a long time ago for something and this past week.. He has answered in a big way! I had started to try and take control of what I had asked on my own which resulted in me having to back out on an almost commitment. So... the moral of my story... God's timing is perfect. Rock Star and Rooster

Happy Sunday! I am going to keep this short and sweet! We had a great day at church, came home to eat and take naps... now I need to run an errand or two before the stores close for the day. I have had these projects in my to post file for a while now and I am ready to get them out! :)

One last thing... Michael and I had a date night last night. We went to see the movie Courageous with a theater full of our church family. Wow... what a great movie! Michael took off today so we all went to the pumpkin patch. We had a lot of fun. We were there for a few hours and even though the weather was beautiful... the sun just sucks the energy out of you! I am trying to motivate myself to get up and put out our fall decor and just to clean up a bit. I guess I should get to it!

I don't usually post on the weekends but this weekend seems to be the exception! I have been crafting A LOT this past week. I have been feeling inspired by everything! It feels good! I have been blog hopping more and finding lots of great inspiration from your cards. I have missed blog hopping! It does a mojo good!

I made six birthday cards just last night! Seven birthday boys and girls this week... I still have one more card to make!

The cards I am sharing today were inspired by a few things! This card by Susan Raihala reminded me to use my Faux Ribbon set ... and I will probably CASE her card at some point too! My friend, Ashley, came over to craft the other night and inspired me to use a couple of sets that I haven't used in a while. One of those sets is the Enjoy The Ride set. I also got inspiration for these cards from my friend, Tara. Carver and I went to her house at the first of the week. The colors I used on the card are the same colors in her son's room! LOVE THEM!!

Well... that is it for me today! I hope you have all had a wonderful Sunday! We had a great worship time with our church family today. Michael is back home after being gone for a week on a mission trip to New Orleans. Carver and I are glad to have him home!

I wanted to share, what I think to be, some fun stuff today! First up are my cards.... I made these the other night for the current Hero Arts challenge. I just love that peace ornament... I think it is way cool!!

Next up is some news... I found out that I am going to be able to be on the Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge DT... totally pumped about that!! I love Paper Smooches! I feel very blessed to be on 2 great DT's. I stayed away from them for a long time... well... they may have stayed away from me too but... hopefully you know what I mean. I didn't apply to any/many! I was worried about the time commitment. Not to mention the rejection factor! Now that Carver is in school... I am just excited at the idea of taking on more 'work'... if you can call it that! Will work for stamps... that is my motto! LOL!

Okay... so back to the cards! :) I always feel kind of funny about posting about stuff like that! I am excited and want to record it for me... and show my excitement for the people who gave me these opportunities but... I always worry about coming off like I am bragging! Hopefully you know me well enough to know that ... that is not like me! :) I think all of us who put ourselves out there on a blog... for all to see... feel like that from time to time. Unless... you just like to brag and don't feel bad about it! :)

Okay... so really now.... back to the cards! :) I am going to post each card individually below... pretty much just because I took an individual shot too. They all look alike except for the colors but I am going to post them anyway!

Sorry... I am chatty! I am excited about my news and I have a friend coming over to craft for a while after Carver goes to bed. That definitely doesn't happen often enough!

I made this little CAS tag last night for the current Hero Arts challenge. One of the categories for the challenge is to use non-holiday stamps to make a holiday project. Happy Tuesday! I thought I would get a post up before it got to be too late. I am hoping to get some crafting in tonight! I have spent a few nights mostly catching up on emails, etc. Did you know that you can change the name of the blogs in your google reader? I spent some time the other night doing that. I like seeing the blog owners name instead of the blog name. Personal preference! I wiped my google reader clean and am happy to say that I have been able to keep up with that the last couple of days. It is currently at 0 unread posts! I have even posted on a lot of blogs lately... go me! :)

I organized/changed the names of the sites, etc that I have bookmarked in Firefox! I guess I have been on an organizing kick! I love organizing! That would be dream job #2... get payed to organize! I am itching to get started on organizing my 20,000 plus pics on flickr but... I think I will craft instead! :) That job is going to take a while!

Wow... guess I am a little chatty!

I made this card a while ago for an assignment for PSA Essentials! I love this card! I am not sure what exactly makes me love it so much but I do!! I thought it was appropriate to post tonight. I am missing the hubby (probably why I am so chatty online tonight)! :(

Happy Monday night! I just wanted to show a card that I made today for a friend. I love getting requests for cards from people. It allows me to do something I love for people I love! Win Win!!

Carver and I were invited to the same friends house for dinner/play tonight. We had a great time hanging out with people! I am antisocial by nature. I am not sure why because I always enjoy when we get out and visit with friends. I think I am lazy! :)

Happy Saturday and Happy World Card Making Day! I don't have any big plans today. Michael left early this morning for New Orleans. Our whole house was up late last night which makes an ill Carver and ill mommy! :) Actually I am not too ill at the moment but I think a nap is in order for me and little man today! Maybe I will get a nap and some crafting time in while he naps!

I wanted to post the rest of my Valentines/love projects today! I think I am all caught up with posting holiday cards. I thought I would like hanging onto them to post during the actual holiday but turns out... I don't! I prefer to have them marked off of my to post list. That makes me happy! :)

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop! I am so excited to be a part of this hop and I am so glad that you stopped by for a visit!

Today we wanted to celebrate the release of Holiday Cards & More which is always one of my fav issues! Creating for this call is always so much fun! I just love Christmas and since Paper Crafts works six months in advance... I get a little bit of holiday cheer during the summer! The other purpose of this fun hop is to give you even more ideas for quick 'n easy holiday cards!

I am all about quick 'n easy! Most of the cards that I create are made in 5 steps or less. I love that! Not only do I save time by keeping my designs simple... I will also actually use the cards. If I make a card with a lot of layers/dimension... I find it difficult to mail. I don't know about you but I don't find that many opportunities to hand deliver cards. I love cards that are easy to slip in the mail.

If you are interested in how to reproduce the card that I am sharing with you today.... here are the steps:

1. Make card base and round bottom corners
2. Ink edges with distress ink
3. Color wreath and stamp onto base
4. Stamp sentiment
5. Tie ribbon with button and twine and adhere with glue gun

Today I wanted to share the treat bags that I made for Carvers preschool class! I made 11 of them a couple of nights ago. I guess I am a little excited for Halloween. Now I have to find a place to put them all until he can actually give them to his friends! :)

I just ordered Carvers Halloween costume. He is so excited to get it and not because of the costume itself but because of one of the accessories that I bought to go with it. When I was flipping through the Chasing Fireflies catalog and looking at the costumes, Carver wanted to look at it with me. He decided pretty quickly that he wanted to be a fireman because of this cool little backpack thing that actually shoots water! :) I have a feeling that we are going to have a cold and wet Halloween!

Sorry for my lack of posting lately! I started an antibiotic last Sunday and didn't feel well all week last week. I believe that I might be allergic to that medication. After a couple of doc visits, bugging one of our doctor friends to death, and a trip to the ER... I quit taking the medicine and have felt much better ever since! I finally got a little agreement from my doctor today about the whole allergic/allergy thing. I was beginning to think everyone thought I was crazy! :) Anyway... sounds a lot more dramatic than it was ... even though I was quite the drama queen at times! :)

Enough rambling... just wanted to let you know where I have been in case you have wondered!
